When Emperor Antonius was young his parents died. His parents names were Titus Aurelius Fulvus and his mom's name was Arria Fadilla. Then after this happened he went to live with his another relative named Gnaeus Arrius Anoninus. Later in his life he became Emperor. He reigned so long that is was the longest ever since Octavian. Finally, on March 7th, 161 AD he died. Then after he died Marcus Aurelius ruled and he was the silver emperor of Rome. This means that he was the second best emperor, behind Octavian. This also means that Antonius made a good choice choosing him.

Why should future students learn about this individual?
Emperor Antonius Pius should be taught to future students because he was one of the five "good" emperors in a row. He may have been one of the most boring emperors of all the five good emperors, but he did many things that he is known for. For example, he was a very good administrator. He also led the most peaceful time in the history of Rome. There were no wars or civil wars while he was ruling. Another thing that he did was lower taxes and made Rome more efficient than Rome was originally. To finish off, he also made Rome easier to run.
